CECILIA JAIMES MAURO
multimedia art & graphic design
Raised on the East Coast by a graphic designer and animator, CJ (she/they) has always had a strong interest in the connection between art and psychology. They were encouraged to question everything, and it bloomed into a curiosity about how our society functions around design.
CJ drove out to Southern California with an Associate’s degree in Architecture and worked for many years in property management as a maintenance and operations manager. There, they saw first-hand the inequities in both housing and architecture. This position prompted them to pursue a degree in design so they could learn more about the history of the design industry and its connection to sociology. Graduated from CSULB, CJ is excited to design in their local community.
CJ currently works as a freelance creative consultant for small businesses and nonprofits helping to grow community and online presence.
“I have a passion for creative direction and aspire to give back to the community by integrating personal experiences, listening to others’ voices, and continuing my education to connect design and accessibility.”
In their spare time CJ enjoys curating their Little Free Library, watching their plant-babies thrive, and getting a good laugh from punny jokes.
